Kukke Subramanya Temple

Kukke Subramanya Temple is the most prominent serpent worship temple in India, dedicated to Lord Subramanya (Murugan/Kartikeya) as the lord of serpents (Nagaraja). Nestled in the Western Ghats at the foot of Kumara Parvatha, the temple attracts devotees for Sarpa Dosha Nivarana (serpent curse remediation) and Ashlesha Bali puja. According to legend, Lord Subramanya defeated the serpent king Vasuki here and then blessed serpents with worship at this spot.
