The Kriya Yoga Ashram at Satyalok in Varanasi carries the direct lineage of Lahiri Mahasaya, the great Kriya Yoga master who revived this ancient meditation technique in the 19th century. Initiation programs and retreats are held three times a year (January, July, and October) at the private family shrine. The current teacher, Ujjwal Lahiri, is the fifth-generation lineage holder. The ashram offers authentic Kriya Yoga initiation in the purest traditional form.
The ashram itself has limited accommodation. Nearby guest houses in Varanasi's old city are available at various price ranges. The ashram can guide visitors to recommended stays.
